I have seen her a few times but never gotten to speak to her. Never even left a comment...I feel horrible. She was also a moderator at the Gryphon's Guild, where I am also a member.
It's so eerie and devastating to see a profile, be it on DA, Livejournal, whatever, of someone who has passed. The illusion of activity lingers, but nothing will ever change, like it's frozen in time. Seeing the profile or posts of one you know is gone is an absolutely bizarre, very horrible feeling..It's especially shocking to know how the person died.
I remember a few years ago, there was a guy on HRWF named Buz. A really good guy, sharp too. But last year, after not hearing from him in a very long time, someone found out he had died. It was sad, but at the same time, we knew he had been sick for a very long time. And considering the assurance he had in Christ, I am confident he will live again.
But this, it's terrible! A brutal murder is not how you want to find out someone you know has died. It's more than sad, it seems.
