Okay, so the Department of Homeland security has this genious idea. They are considering making airline passengers wear bracelets with GPS tracking devices. To make things more worrisome, these bracelets also shock the wearer on command if they 'get out of line'.

...So anyway...

We didn't end up getting her as our roommate. We actually got a different girl who is completely awesome.

So yeah. I'm feeling fantastic right now. Just finished my animation assignment and carried a 25 pound bag of clay back from the art store.

A couple of days ago Angela, Neko (my roommates) and I went to Japantown. They got matching hats (http://gkworld.zoovy.com/product/GKW14689/Di_Gi_Charat_Dejikos_Fleece_Cap.html like that, but with ear flaps.)

I'm totally getting one too next time we go. XD

Yeah..We also saw Wall-E (twice), which I thought was cute. Didn't do much else aside from shopping and watchin TV together lol.

Okay. I'm currently in San Francisco on one of AAU's computers. (An iMac with a rather defective keyboard). So far my time here has been pretty damn interesting. My classes are great (all except for one, which I'll explain later) and I've made an awesome friend.
Last week though, I had just gotten settled in when I walked into my room one evening to the acrid, skunklike smell of marijuana. Now, my room was actually two rooms separated by a small living space but sharing the same door out to the hallway, so I expected as much and had in fact noticed the smell before, but it had been fainter so I hadn't worried about it.
I did not want this smell in my living space, especially when I was ready to go to sleep. I had also been worried about this happening before I even arrived. I wasn't sure if the smell was coming from the room across the middle space or from downstairs, but the former suspicion was confirmed when two girls, one who lived in said room and one whom I had noticed talking quietly to a friend about small marijuana pipes and who wore a lot of red, yellow and green Rastafarian attire, looking suspiciously out of the room when they heard people pass by (I was in the hallway wondering if I should go and mention the smell to an RA at the time) and my neighbor said to me 'We're going to lock the door, so if you want to come in, come in.'

Yeah right. I shook my head and immediately after they closed the usually unlocked door, went downstairs and told the RA who was collecting peoples' IDs what I believed was going on. She immediately went upstairs and called security.

It turned out that three girls were found to have small marijuana pipes, and all of them were evicted. I moved to another room three floors down (Where I met my friend).

Of course, the girls had friends. Friends who are currently very angry with me. After the incident, my former roommates came to my door twice, one of them (the same one who had asked me if I wanted to come in when she locked the door) asked in a drunken voice if she could move in with us as her little buddies giggled at her sides. Now, how in the world they figured out where my room was I will probably never know, but I thought sincerely that the girl was joking.

She wasn't. Just a little bit ago I was informed by my friend that this girl had in fact moved into our room. Faaanastic. I told the RA of my floor about i and apparently I have to talk about it to another staff member who's currently not in the building. I'm in another building waiting for a call now. I'm especially worried because I left my medication in my room on my desk in plain sight, and don't have my key to get inside and grab it.

Well, wish me luck.

Edit: Oh! I said I was going to mention my bad class and I didn't! Okay, so here's how it goes.
Two (out of three) of the girls in my acting class are friends with my former roommates and are both really pissed at me so everything's pretty awkard with them.

Beef Protests in Korea

Yeah...I've been pretty worried about Mad Cow Disease myself, since I was about 12 when I saw a documentary on it in my science class. It's my worst fear and I never actually started having panic attacks until I learned about it.

My paranoia aside though, I must say that the fact that there is this much of an uproar over US beef is certainly unnerving. I try to avoid the meat as much as possible myself, but I take a medication with capsules made out of bovine gelatin.

So anyway, some things that I think are good reason for this whole protest, and why I believe that Americans need to start being much more wary.

1. Less than one percent of U.S. beef is tested for the disease, because it is very expensive and difficult to do.

2. Mad Cow Disease can take up to 45 years to show up in humans.

3. Cow products (other than milk) such as gelatin (which, often being bone marrow) show up, I've found, in many more places than one would expects. In 'moisture beads' in cosmetic products, marshmallows, gummy candies, and even the icing in cereals (I saw 'gelatin' on the list of ingredients on a box of strawberry mini wheats.). I've even seen 'beef fat' on the ingredients list of Hostess' Donettes!

4. Care of livestock is deteriorating. Cows are being given things that are bad for their digestive systems, as well as matter from dead cattle for added protein to go with the cheap feed. Take note that this is the main cause for the disease.

5. The disease is a protein; It is indestructible. The proteins are called prions, and they change their shape and manipulate surrounding proteins, cells, etc. They actually resemble the proteins in the brain responsible for memory storage. Perhaps there could be a way in the future to convert existing prions in people to be beneficial?

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly hit infected individuals twenty to forty five years from now and wiped out huge populations like the plague. Those scientists need to get crackin' on a cure. Or at least a way to alter the genes of cattle to prevent them from contracting the illness and prevent further damage to the human population if my 'plague' idea ever does happen.

People always say that it's extremely unlikely, but when you consider the facts today, you reconsider whether you should be as 'paranoid' as I am or not.

Uncle Visit

My uncle Craig from WA is coming up for a visit! He's driving up (or drove up) the Alaska Highway and should be here by around nine this morning (It's exactly three thirty right now. Pulling an all-nighter.)

So yeah. He's pretty cool, I'm excited.

What does bother me though is that he looks a lot like my dad. An older version, even though he actually is my dad's younger brother but still, they look incredibly similar. I get the same feeling when I see Craig that I do when I dream about Dad.

In pretty much every dream that I have about my dad, he's there, but he doesn't say anything, so it's almost like it's not him or he's not entirely there. And in my dreams I always wonder whether or not he actually died, but I don't seem to think 'Oh, it's impossible that he's here!' or 'This is fantastic! He's alive!', just that it's nice to see him again, and a deep sense of grief and thoughts of the past, as well as wishing that he would talk to me.

It's a really, really weird feeling and it's very weird knowing that I am going to feel it soon. It's just a funky feeling in the pit of my stomach, like I want to cry but I can't because he's standing right in front of me. Only he's not.

My favorite teacher always tells her class that 'Your number one, highest priority is to find out who you are'. I have a lot of moments where I think I have, but every time is simply a small piece of a huge puzzle. Today I was doing some of my usual reflecting while I worked on one of the projects that I've been frantically trying to finish before I go down to SanFran, and as usual I realized some things. As usual, also, I thought that this time it was vitally important, which it was, but probably no more so than any other time.

So, some things I realized.

1. I try too hard to be someone I am not. I already knew this, but I didn't know that it was to such an extent as it is/was.

2. Rather than trying to build myself as a person, I tend to pick a role model and attempt to stick as closely as possible to it. I believe that this is because I am/was afraid to accept myself, fearing that I would end up being someone strange or not very respectable.

3. I am silly, and there is no way around that. I don't know exactly what it is, but I usually feel very energetic and must always be occupied; Because of this I tend to talk a lot and am constantly moving. My leg is always bouncing if I cannot be physically walking around or something, and I even move my legs as I fall asleep. I try too hard to stay 'calm and cool'. I can, of course, but what I was doing was unhealthily trying to hold everything in. This probably made it much worse, now that I think of it. I need to find something to project my energy onto rather than holding it in and letting it out in ways like saying things at inappropriate moments when I really don't want to.

4. I tend to cling to things that remind me of my dad and obsess over them. I always tried to be more like him than my mother when he was alive, so I've unconsciously been trying to emulate things that seems similar in my mind.

5. I need to stop being so afraid of sexual things. I am deeply disturbed by the idea of sex or physical contact beyond hugging.

6. I have an (over)active imagination, and it needs outlets! :3

7. I think that if I just do what I like to do rather than what's 'cool', I can get pretty far.

8. I am afraid of relationships. I am extremely wary of EVERYONE, and I have a hard time just making friends. If I actually consider someone my friend, then they are usually as close to me in my mind as my family, if not closer, and I care deeply for them.

9. I'm not very mature, but I always bash other people for being immature. Hypocrisy, yeah!

10. I am very 'judgmental', because I'd rather have a bad impression of a person to use rather than get to know more about them and their beliefs for fear of being hurt.

11. I thought that I was long over it, but as it turns out, I am too proud and very prone to denial and coming up with false excuses for all of my behaviors.

12. I am far too defensive.

13. I'm afraid to be emotional, and I try to place reason on all of them (usually wrong) as excuses not to express them.

14. I don't get 'love' in the sexual, romantic, whatever you want to call it sense. In my mind, I 'love' anyone who has honestly won my trust.

15. I keep too many secrets that do not need to be kept, because I'm afraid of what people will think. I even keep things from myself. Isn't that just sad?

16. It took me until today to realize that selfless acts serve more of a purpose than simply keeping a person from suffering from guilt and scorn from others. Verrry sad. ._.

17. I NEED TO ACCEPT MYSELF. I'm weird as hell, but that's okay! I need to relax and let my mind open up.

I imagined a conversation in my head and was thinking of making a comic with it (or luring a friend into having it), but I'm too lazy to do either of those.
So I'll post it.

Yeah. Sounds like a psychology project to me. xD I thought it was an interesting thought though; It was inspired by 'La Trahison des Images'or 'The Treachery of Images', a painting by surrealist René Magritte. It is an image of a tobacco pipe, and below it is the statement 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe', 'This is not a pipe', because it is supposedly rather only an IMAGE of a pipe.

My thought though, is that it's only a pipe if you perceive it to be a pipe; In truth, it is only paint on a sheet of canvas. Of course you could go much farther and say all of the things of which the canvas and paints themselves are made, then the atomic structures and stuff of all that but...

That'd be WAY overdoing it. You get the point. XD

Well, school's out, and my very good friend Hannah, whom I've know for about nine years now, might be coming up here in August! I'm so excited! 8]

Before that, I'm going to a wedding down in CA, then to take classes again, and them perhaps stopping by Hannahs house in WA and staying a couple days before bringing her up here to visit.

This will be one absolutely sweet Summer. 8D YAHAY Excitement!

Also, on the last day of school, my Alaska History teacher, to whom I was going to sell my Advanced Art final project for $30, offered $100 for it! O_O SCORE. I've made $200 this month! (Which is great, considering I do not have a job. The other 100 was birthday money, by the way.)

I totally can't believe I'm going to be a senior next year! D8 I'm scared, but it's also exciting! The seniors get to do all the fun stuff. And after graduation, I can totally go to Further Confusion in Jan. 2010 without any objections from mom or anyone! xD I'm planning on building a partial suit of SixEars this year. I'm extremely excited about all of that, too! :D

Holycrap! I leave on the sixteenth of June.

So yeah. As for what's been going on with me lately..It's been a little bit of a hectic weekend, at least by my standards. Today I went out on a fishing boat for the 'Blessing of the Fleet' with my mom and a bunch of people that I don't know. Had some food and did a little memorial service thing..That's it. On Sunday I got my ears pierced, which hurt like crazy, and my ears are still a tad sore because I have to apply alcohol and turn the studs ever so often to keep the skin from growing onto them or something. Owww.

And a bunch of nonsense about ice cream, crab fest and Frito pie.

Architect — "It's Not Theoretically Possible"

INTPs live rich worlds inside their minds, which are full of imagination and excitement. Consequently, they sometimes find the external world pales in comparison. This may result in a lack of motivation to form and maintain relationships. INTPs are not likely to have a very large circle of significant relationships in their lives. They're much more likely to have a few very close relationships, which they hold in great esteem and with great affection. Since the INTP's primary focus and attention is turned inwards, aimed towards seeking clarity from abstract ideas, they are not naturally tuned into others' emotional feelings and needs. They tend to be difficult to get to know well, and hold back parts of themselves until the other person has proven themselves "worthy" of hearing the INTP's thoughts. Holding Knowledge and Brain Power above all else in importance, the INTP will choose to be around people who they consider to be intelligent. Once the INTP has committed themself to a relationship, they tend to be very faithful and loyal, and form affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward. The INTP has no interest or understanding of game-playing with regards to relationships. However, if something happens which the INTP considers irreconcilable ,they will leave the relationship and not look back.

Richly imaginative and creative
Do not feel personally threatened by conflict or criticism

INTP Weaknesses

Not naturally in tune with others' feelings; slow to respond to emotional needs
Not naturally good at expressing their own feelings and emotions
Tend to be suspicious and distrusting of others
Not usually good at practical matters, such as money management, unless their work involves these concerns
They have difficulty leaving bad relationships
Tend to "blow off" conflict situations by ignoring them, or else they "blow up" in heated anger

INTPs in Love

INTPs approach their intimate relationships quite seriously - as they approach most things in life. They take their vows and commitments seriously, and are usually faithful and loyal. They are usually pretty easy to live with and be around, because they have simple daily needs and are not overly demanding of their partners in almost any respect. While the INTP's internal life is highly theoretical and complex, their external life in comparison is usually quite simple. They like to keep the complexities of their external world to a minimum, so that they can focus their brain power on working through their theories internally. This makes them very straight-forward, honest lovers, with a love that is quite pure in its simple, uncomplicated nature.

Although they choose to keep things straight-forward in their relationships, this does not mean that the INTP is lacking in depth of feeling or passion. The INTP is very creative person, who has vivid imaginations. They can be very excitable and passionate about their love relationships. Sometimes, they have a problem reconciling the exciting visions of their internal worlds with the actuality of their external circumstances.

Romantically, the INTP usually approaches intimacy with enthusiasm and excitement. Some INTPs play down entirely the need for romantic relations in their lives, but most use their rich imaginations and child-like enthusiasm to make the most of the moment. The INTP will usually be experiencing the moment with vivid intensity inside their own minds, although this may or may not be apparent to their partner.

The largest area of potential strife in an INTP's intimate relationship is their slowness in understanding and meeting their partner's emotional needs. The INTP may be extremely dedicated to the relationship, and deeply in love with their partner, but may have no understanding of their mate's emotional life, and may not express their own feelings often or well. When the INTP does express themselves, it's likely to be in their own way at their own time, rather than in response to their partner's needs. If this is an issue which has caused serious problems in a relationship, the INTP should work on becoming more aware of their partner's feelings, and their partner should work on not requiring explicit positive affirmation to feel loved by the INTP.

INTPs do not like to deal with messy complications, such as interpersonal conflict, and so they may fall into the habit of ignoring conflict when it occurs. If they feel they must face the conflict, they're likely to approach it from an analytical perspective. This may aggravate the conflict situation, if their partner simply wants to feel that they are supported and loved. Most people (and especially those with the Feeling preference) simply want to be encouraged, affirmed and supported when they are upset. The INTP should practice meeting these needs in conflict situations.
